Ladurée Savoir Vivre: The Art of Fine Living
It’s impossible not to love Ladurée. Their Marie Antoinette aesthetic speaks to all of the senses: the smell of their pastries and teas, the sight of their colorful macarons, the taste of, well, everything they make (especially the black currant macarons). We all like to be a little hedonistic sometimes, whether or not we admit it. Luckily for us Francophiles and Ladurée lovers, Vendome Press publishes Ladurée books so we can have a taste of their magic at any time. Ladurée’s newest book, Savoir Vivre: The Art of Fine Living is written by Maud Hacker and a little different from most of their previous books, which focus on cuisine and recipes. Their newest addition to the collection covers everything from hosting guests to packing well to taking the perfect bubble bath, all with a French touch, of course. As you can tell, this book is serious eye candy and would make the perfect gift for anyone that loves fashion, Paris, or a good coffee table book.
The sections include how to live your best life In the Morning, During the Day, In the Evening, At the Weekend, and Travelling. Each section covers a wide variety of topics that offer advice on diet, decor, beauty, style and etiquette. It even divulges one of the secrets to living a longer life. Hint: it involves drinking water. The illustrations by Sophie Bouxom are the real star of this lovely read, though. Each page features a different design and is fully adorned with her artwork. At just over 300 pages, this book is an absolute delight to the eyes and is easy to be enjoyed by all ages. It comes wrapped in tissue paper inside a pretty pink box, ready for gifting!
